Sunday Funday in the Advanced Medical Neuroscience Internship

As interns arrive at Georgetown University, the energy is high, and everyone is excited for the week to come. Interns arrive throughout the day and slowly begin to mingle as they greet each other. When going on explorations with strangers in different areas of Georgetown, strangers quickly become friends. 

At 4 p.m., all interns were brought together in their individual program shirts and attended an Introduction to Leadership Initiatives presentation about the program and to meet the team. After the Neuroscience group left together for dinner and more downtime to meet new people. As the night continues, interns gather in Gaston Hall Auditorium for Dr. Giordano's Neuroscience Keynote, Why do we mind … what goes on in our minds. Interns can feel the excitement building. 

Teams are assigned, and interns meet their team leads. As a team-bonding activity, all teams went on an exploration to a place of their choosing. Some went to CVS for essentials, and others ventured out to find ice cream to cool off after the hot day. 

Settling in for the night, interns prep for an early morning filled with lectures, brain dissections, lived-experience panels, and much more.
