As their professional development journey draws to a close, interns had the chance to hear from one of the week’s standout guest speakers: Anthony Annan, whose session offered a deep dive into the world of investment banking. Mr. Annan walked students through key concepts like financial modeling, deal structuring, and the fast-paced environment of capital markets. Beyond technical know-how, he painted a picture of the skills essential to thrive in finance including resilience, precision, and market intuition, all while shedding light on the broader economic impact investment bankers can make.

“Before today, I didn’t even know what investment banking really was, however Mr. Anthony Annan’s session opened up a new path that I hadn’t prior considered. He broke down financial modeling and deal structuring in a way that made it feel less intimidating and more understandable. Now I’m seriously thinking about how I can explore this field further."

His advice on breaking into competitive industries was direct and encouraging: curiosity, preparation, and authentic networking are what truly set candidates apart. Interns responded with thoughtful questions, and many walked away newly energized by the possibilities ahead.
The rest of the day was dedicated to hands-on work. Interns used focused time to refine their business proposals, practice their presentations, and connect once more with their Nigerian business partners. These final touchpoints helped ensure that their materials were aligned with partner goals and that every team felt prepared to share their work with mentors and peers the following day.

It was a day full of perspective, polish, and meaningful preparation, setting the stage for impactful presentations and confident collaboration ahead.
