Dr. G opens the morning by asking what the brain actually does — and the more interns learn, the more they realize how much they didn't know. That realization is thrilling as it provides insight into the endless possibilities the future holds.

Dr. Shook's session on the culture and ethics of the brain keeps everyone on the edge of their seats. Who decides what's neurologically "normal"? The questions are uncomfortable, and the interns love every minute of it.

The afternoon group work and faculty consultations are where the week starts to feel real. Teams huddle, debate, and slowly transform half-formed ideas into concrete research directions under the guidance of Dr. Shook and Dr. Wurzman. It is productive, occasionally chaotic, and completely energizing.

Dr. G closes the day with a deep dive into neuromodulation — the science of stimulating the brain to change the mind. Interns walk to dinner still mid-conversation, unable to let the ideas go, they sit together with their teams to mull over their research topic.
