Creativity & Imaging

Wednesday is a day of seeing things differently. Dr. Vanmeter opens with an introduction to fMRI and a tour of the fMRI lab. Interns can picture themselves as researchers watching a brain think in real time. They can see their futures at their fingertips.

Dr. Wurzman follows with a session on neurodiversity and diagnosis, asking interns to question the language medicine uses to describe differences. Then Dr. Green closes the morning with a focus on creativity and the brain — what happens neurologically when we make art or experience wonder. By lunch, everyone is thinking about their own minds in a new way.

The Brain Bank anatomy exploration in the afternoon is an experience nobody forgets. There is something quietly powerful about being in the presence of real specimens; holding the architecture of human thought is an experience nobody will forget.

The evening brings lab demonstrations on tDCS, neurofeedback, and brain imaging technology, alongside public speaking workshops and doctor consultations. With ideas solidifying, interns work tirelessly to build their projects.
