The Long-Awaited Presentation Day of Week Three

The third week of the International Leadership & Business Internship concluded with interns presenting the consulting projects they had worked tirelessly to develop throughout the program. After spending the week researching and collaborating with their Nigerian business partners, each team was ready to share their final presentations for marketing and infrastructure.

The day began with professional headshots and a full group photo, allowing interns to capture memories of a week filled with collaboration and new friendships. Before presentations officially began, each consulting team met one final time with its Business Partner and Communications Instructor, Wendy Riemann, who provided last-minute advice on presentation delivery, slide design, and public speaking. Her guidance helped students make final adjustments while building confidence before stepping in front of the judges.

With preparations complete, interns gathered inside Georgetown University's School of Business to deliver their final presentations. Throughout the morning, each team introduced its assigned Nigerian business, explained the challenges it had identified, and presented carefully researched marketing and infrastructure solutions designed to support long-term success. As teams took the stage, staff and fellow interns created an encouraging atmosphere by cheering one another on and celebrating the effort that had gone into every presentation.

Presentations were evaluated by a panel of judges that included Justin Smith, Ahmed Suleiman, and Umar Muhammad. After each presentation, the judges offered thoughtful feedback, highlighting the creativity, professionalism, and strategic thinking demonstrated by the interns, while providing suggestions that will help students continue to grow as consultants and leaders. Following a short break, the remaining teams presented their projects, bringing another successful round of presentations to a close.

Once presentations had concluded, interns enjoyed a well-earned opportunity to relax and celebrate the week's accomplishments. Some explored Georgetown with friends, while others spent time in the residence halls or grabbed lunch together before the evening festivities.

The day concluded with a social gathering, bringing together participants from the various internship programs for one final evening of conversation and celebration. The gathering gave interns the chance to reflect on everything they had accomplished throughout the week, reconnect with new friends, and celebrate the relationships and experiences that made the program so memorable.

As the third week came to a close, interns left with a strong sense of accomplishment and confidence. Having completed another incredible week at Leadership Initiatives, they walked away with strengthened leadership and teamwork skills that will continue to serve them throughout the remainder of the internship and in their future academic and professional journeys.
