Entering the Final Stretch

Wednesday shifted the focus from the courtroom to the road ahead, giving interns a look at both the academic path forward and the deeper policy and casework skills that will carry them there.

The day opened with a panel of admissions representatives from law schools across the country. The panel gave interns a direct look at what admissions committees are actually looking for, walking through what makes an application stand out and what the road to law school really looks like from the other side of the desk.

Interns also met with Dave Karpf, an associate professor in the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. His research focuses on the strategic communication practices of political associations in America, with a particular interest in internet-related strategy. In the lead-up to Wednesday, Karpf worked directly with interns on their policy projects, helping them sharpen their arguments and think more carefully about how to frame and communicate their positions.

Meanwhile, attorney Brandi Harden continued working with interns on their casework, keeping up the hands-on mentorship she's brought to the program all week.

Between the admissions panel, Karpf's policy guidance, and Brandi's continued support, Wednesday gave interns a well-rounded push forward,  sharpening their eye for the future while deepening the skills they're building right now.
