As the International Leadership and Business Internship drew closer to its finale, interns embarked on their last official embassy visits, dividing into two teams to explore three different nations through their diplomatic missions. One group visited the Embassy of Finland, one visited the Embassy of Moldova, and one group visited the Embassy of Guyana. Each encounter offered a distinct lens into the power of cultural diplomacy, leaving interns inspired by the diversity of global perspectives.

At the Embassy of Finland, interns were warmly welcomed by embassy staff and introduced to Finland’s remarkable blend of innovation and tradition. They learned about Finland’s approach to diplomacy, rooted in cooperation, sustainability, and education. These values shape both the countries’ domestic policies and international relations. Interns gained insights into their cultural identity through design, folklore, and even the national love for saunas, an experience that sparked meaningful discussions on the role of creativity, nature, and equality in building a strong society.

Meanwhile, the second team had the opportunity to visit the Embassy of Moldova. Interns were introduced to the country’s relatively young history and its growing role in European and international affairs. The Ambassador highlighted Moldova’s dedication to cultural preservation, democratic reform, and global partnerships.

Though the teams followed different paths, the interns all walked away with unforgettable lessons in global citizenship. The visits underscored how diplomacy isn’t just about high-level policy, it’s about human connection, identity, and mutual respect. These final embassy visits stitched together a tapestry of traditions, challenges, and shared hope for a more collaborative world.

After a long day of lectures and embassy visits, the interns closed out the day with a final meeting with their mentors to help with their upcoming presentations and proposals as well as any last minute advice. After dinner, they had some time to meet back up as groups to finalize their presentations ahead of the big day tomorrow.
