As part of an action-packed Skills Day, our interns stepped directly into the shoes of specialized health care professionals to put their clinical precision and hand-eye coordination to the test.

Two favorites of today's technical training were the Suturing and Venipuncture Workshop. The interns dived into the fundamentals of wound closure, learning the mechanics behind both interrupted and continuous suturing techniques. Operating on clinical practice skin pads, the students learned how to carefully mount a needle, navigate the curve of the steel, and tie secure, professional surgical knots. What started as quiet, intense concentration quickly transformed into a high-energy arena as the Team Leads launched a friendly, rapid-fire competition to see who could complete their sutures the fastest. The room buzzed with laughter and supportive cheers as interns raced against the clock, showing off their newfound dexterity.

In the Venipuncture Workshop taught by Mrs. Danita, a highly skilled phlebotomist, interns continued to develop their clinical skills by learning the delicate art of drawing blood and starting IVs. Working with realistic training arms, the students practiced locating veins by touch, anchoring them, and inserting needles at the precise, shallow angle required for success. Mrs. Danita walked them through the crucial steps of clinical safety and hygiene, showing them how to smoothly handle the vacutainer tubes without losing suction. The hands-on practice quickly turned tentative jitters into smiles of triumph as the interns successfully drew "blood" and mastered the fluid mechanics of phlebotomy.

By the end of the day, our future medical professionals had transformed nervous fumbling into smooth, fluid movements, proving they have the focus, patience, and drive required for the physical demands of modern surgery!
