It’s officially Congress Day!

The interns wake up brimming with anticipation and energy, eager to begin one of the most important days of the week. After their usual breakfast, they swap out their everyday business casual for sharp business professional attire, ready to step into the halls of power.

The day begins with a visit to the U.S. Capitol, including an exciting tour of the Library of Congress and a unique dining experience at the Supreme Court. The interns can hardly contain their excitement as they take in the history and significance of the institutions around them.

As they split into their congressional groups, the focus shifts to advocacy. Each group rehearses its campaign one final time, preparing to present its ideas to influential representatives and senators. This is their moment to speak up, connect with national leaders, and make an impact on real-world policy.

Following a thrilling morning of lobbying and public speaking, the students regroup for final collaboration and reflection. They meet one last time with Keah and her team to polish their campaigns and address any last-minute questions or feedback.

As the day winds down, the interns begin to reflect on their journey. They think about the skills they’ve gained, the friendships they’ve formed, and the incredible opportunities they’ve had throughout their week with Leadership Initiatives.

With tomorrow’s presentations on the horizon, they head to bed, tired but inspired, ready to step into the spotlight and put all their hard work into action.
