An Afternoon of Global Perspectives, Exploration, and Consulting Growth

Wednesday afternoon gave interns the opportunity to broaden their global perspective while continuing to make meaningful progress on their consulting projects. Following lunch, participants spent time visiting the Embassy of El Salvador or taking time to explore Washington, D.C., before returning to Georgetown for an afternoon of collaborative workshops.

At the Embassy of El Salvador gained insight into the nation's history, culture, and growing relationship with the United States. Representatives shared how diplomacy supports economic development, international collaboration, and cultural exchange while highlighting the embassy's role in representing El Salvador abroad. Interns also learned about careers in foreign service and explored the many ways diplomacy helps connect people, governments, and businesses across the world.

After the interns went exploring in Washington, D.C. had the opportunity to experience the nation's capital beyond the classroom. Whether visiting Georgetown’s neighborhood, interns were able to learn more about the city's history while spending time with fellow staff and strengthening the friendships they have built throughout the program.

After returning to Georgetown, interns gathered for the Wednesday workshops, where they balanced focused team collaboration with opportunities to present their consulting progress to business professionals, Sarita Bhargava for marketing, and Adedoyin Akande for infrastructure. Between presentations, teams refined their recommendations and incorporated feedback from earlier in the week. At the same time, Program Director Zac

Clark and Assistant Director Danielle Saborio reviewed marketing materials with the marketing teams, while Country Director Umar Muhmamad and Assistant Director Annie Jin worked with the infrastructure teams to strengthen their project recommendations. During each workshop, interns shared updates on their partner businesses, presented the solutions they had developed, and received valuable feedback to help strengthen their final presentations.

The afternoon concluded with a walk to dinner, allowing interns to unwind, reflect on the day's experiences, and continue conversations with teammates before preparing for another day of learning, collaboration, and leadership development.
